The Top 8 is more than just a pile of cards. It's the players that piloted those decks and weathered the ebbs and flows of a two-day tournament. Here are the players who performed well enough this weekend to make the Top 8 of Grand Prix Minneapolis.

What did you play this weekend, and why? Black-Green Constrictor; Brad told me to.

What was the best card in your main deck, and why? Winding Constrictor, it's gas.

What was the best card in your sideboard, and why? Skysovereign, Consul Flagship (The boat). T-Pain agrees.

What was your plan to beat Ramunap Red this weekend? Cast 2/3s when they play 2/1s.

What does this Top 8 mean to you? First Top 8 with my big bro!!! I couldn't be happier.

What did you play this weekend, and why? Black-Green Constrictor, because Corey told me to.

What was the best card in your main deck, and why? Whatever came off the top.

What was the best card in your sideboard, and why? I'm on a boat!

What was your plan to beat Ramunap Red this weekend? Have early draws to dodge it.

What does this Top 8 mean to you? My brother and I have dreamed of being in the same Top 8 since we started playing Magic. This means everything!

What was the best card in your main deck, and why? Thraben Inspector. It does everything.

What was the best card in your sideboard, and why? Skysovereign, Consul Flagship. Black decks can't kill it.

What was your plan to beat Ramunap Red this weekend? Race with Aethersphere Harvester, have good blockers.

What does this Top 8 mean to you? Back on the Pro Tour!

What did you play this weekend, and why? Black-Green, because it's nice.

What was the best card in your main deck, and why? Blooming Marsh, because Bayou is strong.

What was the best card in your sideboard, and why? Ishkanah, Grafwidow. It's tutorable and has a variety of applications.

What was your plan to beat Ramunap Red this weekend? Win. The matchup is good.

What does this Top 8 mean to you? The payoff of a lot of hard work, and a trip to the Pro Tour.

What did you play this weekend, and why? Mardu Vehicles. I asked Matt Severa how he liked the deck at the Pro Tour. He loved it and sent me the latest version. I was the only deck I had played.

What was the best card in your main deck, and why? There is not one card, the entire deck was great.

What was the best card in your sideboard, and why? Gideon, Ally of Zendikar, because I didn't run four main.

What was your plan to beat Ramunap Red this weekend? Play Aethersphere Harvester.

What does this Top 8 mean to you? It means that Dan Bock was not there to stop me from making the Pro Tour. I believe I'm in the first Savadoran to make Top 8 of a Grand Prix.

What was the best card in your main deck, and why? Liliana's Mastery, because it lets you turn the corner and go over the top.

What was the best card in your sideboard, and why? Murder. It helps you beat Vehicles, which can be problematic.

What was your plan to beat Ramunap Red this weekend? Make sure I could beat their midrange plan post-board.

What does this Top 8 mean to you? Fun to break through and qualify for a Pro Tour.
