Through fifteen rounds, the original field of 1,426 players had been reduced to a mere eight who would now duke it out in the Top 8—for the fame, the glory, and potentially the trophy. Time to learn a bit more about each of those eight!

Previous Magic Accomplishments: Top 8 at Grand Prix Barcelona, Top 8 at Nationals 2010.

What deck did you play and why did you choose it?
Abzan Aggro, the most solid choice in a wide-open field.

What changes would you make to your deck and why would you make them?
Cut one Hero's Downfall for the fourth Abzan Charm perhaps.

What is the most important card in your deck?
Siege Rhino, and after sideboarding, Den Protector.

Abzan Control. I think it's good in the metagame.

What changes would you make to your deck and why would you make them?
None.

Previous Magic Accomplishments: 23rd at the 2014 World Magic Cup with Team Portugal. 0-6 at one WMCQ before qualifying.

What deck did you play and why did you choose it?
Green Devotion with a splash of red. I was going to play Abzan Control until Thursday, when I lost six matches in a row and decided to switch to this because of its good matchups against green-white decks like Abzan, Bant, et cetera.

What changes would you make to your deck and why would you make them?
I like the main deck, maybe play a third Den Protector or Arc Lightning in the sideboard.

What is the most important card in your deck?
Vespa Rainha! Or, in English, Hornet Queen

Mono-Red Goblins. It's the most stable deck in the format.

All the 1-drops.

Green/White Collected Company.

What changes would you make to your deck and why would you make them?
Probably cut the Nykthos for consistency.

What is the most important card in your deck?
Mastery of the Unseen/Collected Company.

What deck did you play and why did you choose it?
Abzan Aggro Morphs. I've been listening to Standard Master Brad Nelson on the SSL.

What changes would you make to your deck and why would you make them?
Cut the Warden of the First Tree in the sideboard for probably another Drown in Sorrow. Otherwise it's great.

What is the most important card in your deck?
Still Siege Rhino. Although every hand with Fleecemane Lion is great.

Abzan Aggro because I had not finished my Atarka Red's decklist during sitting.

What changes would you make to your deck and why would you make them?
I would add more Anafenzas and Abzan Charms but that will make my deck illegal.

Abzan Charm.

What deck did you play and why did you choose it?
Mono-Red. I'm just sightseeing with my wife. So I have to sightsee with my wife at night. I never expected my Top 8!

What changes would you make to your deck and why would you make them?
I want to have one more Searing Blood in my sideboard. It is very good against morphs.

What is the most important card in your deck?
Stoke the Flames.
