The main event only started this morning, but the weekend's action already began on Friday. The doors opened at 10:00 a.m. and hundreds of players quickly filled the hall with the sounds of, well, Magic. People had the choice of various sweet side events, for example to take part in a free Mini Master tournament, where everyone received at least one complimentary booster pack courtesy of ChannelFireball, with additional prizes later on.

Meanwhile, the more serious minded folks did of course have the option to enter in one of the traditional last-chance Grand Prix Trials. Their final chance to earn two byes for today's main event, and our first to get a look at what decks might be in position to do well this weekend.
