《渦まく知識》と《Force of Will》をデッキに入れないならレガシーじゃない、と多くのレガシー・プレイヤーはそう感じています。確かに、マジックでは長年にわたり、強力な青のカードが多数印刷されてきました。ですが、レガシーで見受けられる色は青だけではないのです。それを証明したのが、ミハエル・デルクーゾ/Michael Derczo。最新の「StarCityGames.com Legacy Open（リンク先は英語）にて、彼は今回ご紹介するデッキを操りトップ８入賞を果たしたのでした。
ミハエルのデッキには《スレイベンの守護者、サリア》と《ヴリンの翼馬》が４枚ずつ採用されています。コンボ・デッキにとってはまさに悪夢のような構成であり、《渦まく知識》や《思案》のような１マナの呪文を扱うデッキの動きも大きく鈍ることでしょう。『マジック・オリジン』が登場する以前は、《スレイベンの守護者、サリア》が伝説のクリーチャーであるため２枚並べることができませんでした。しかし《ヴリンの翼馬》の登場により、クリーチャーでない呪文のコストを２マナ重くすることができるようになったのです。大抵のデッキは、まずこれらのクリーチャーに対処しなければ勝つことなど不可能に近いでしょう。
《霊気の薬瓶》もまた、今回のデッキにおいて非常に重要な役割を持っています。マナを支払わずにクリーチャーを繰り出せることで、《リシャーダの港》や《不毛の大地》の起動能力を存分に使えます。
それから、《霊気の薬瓶》は対戦相手のプレイングにも影響を与えます。こちらが《霊気の薬瓶》を起動したら、相手はどんなクリーチャーが飛び出してくるのかわからないまま対応を迫られます。例えば、こちらが蓄積カウンターを２個置いた《霊気の薬瓶》を起動し、相手に１マナしかない場合、相手はその時点で《渦まく知識》や《稲妻》を使用する必要があります。《霊気の薬瓶》の起動型能力が解決され《スレイベンの守護者、サリア》が戦場に出てしまえば、その１マナ呪文を使えなくなってしまうのです。この動きは、相手が呪文を使いたいときに使わせない、という素晴らしいものです。とりわけ面白いことに、いざ《霊気の薬瓶》の能力が解決されても何かを繰り出す必要すらないのですから。
白はレガシーにおいて大活躍の色です。対策カードに溢れるこの色は、きっと対戦相手にまともにマジックをさせないことでしょう。それはときに、ドロー呪文や打ち消し呪文をも上回る強さを見せるのです！

こんにちは、皆さん。今年の「Daily Deck」は今回で最後です。本日ご紹介するのは、『戦乱のゼンディカー』で登場した新たなメカニズム「昇華者」を用いたモダンのデッキです。「昇華者」メカニズムといえば《不毛の地の絞殺者》がスタンダードで活躍を見せ始めていますが、それを用いたモダンのデッキを目にするのは初めてです。
