12時間を超える厳しい戦いを勝ち上がってきた80名のドラフターたちがポートメッセ名古屋へと帰ってきた。彼らがこれから戦うことになる第8回戦の戦いは、ちょうど征路の折り返し地点にあたる。彼らは金曜日のアドバンテージを勝利へと結びつけるべく、あるいは、逆転のための連勝を誓いながら、デッキを静かにシャッフルしている。
ただ一人の8連勝という栄誉をかけて戦う塩津 龍馬とアントン・ヨンスン
そんな中で、二人の日本人がフューチャーマッチエリアへと招待された。7連勝を遂げた愛知の塩津 龍馬が、同じく7戦全勝で初日を終えたスウェーデンのAnton Jonssonと血戦に挑む。そして、昨年度のプロツアー神戸で優勝を果たした黒田 正城（大阪）がプロツアー
シアトル王者であるJelger Wiegersma（オランダ）とマッチアップされている。
ちなみに、「あまり上等なデッキ」とはいえないロチェスターとなってしまっている塩津にとって、これはビッグチャレンジそのもの。Jonssonはこのイベントに参戦している中ではただひとりの「世界三大リミテッダー」である。そして、彼のデッキは「テーブル内の最強候補」という素晴らしいものなのだ。
一方、青白の素晴らしいデッキを完成させている黒田 正城にとっては、このWiegersma戦はリベンジマッチとなる戦いだ。すっきりと一年前の黒星の意趣返しを果たして、黒田としては「国内プロツアー連覇」という大記録に挑みたいところだ。

第3ドラフトで「プロツアーチャンピオンが4人存在するドラフトポッド」に着席した黒田 正城（大阪）は実に巧妙なロチャスターを展開し、協調ドラフト卓であるという大前提を崩さずに「色がえ」作戦に成功しての強力な青白デッキの構築に成功した。
黒田 正城は3戦連続でプロツアー王者と対戦し、そして快勝した
そんな黒田が実際にマッチアップした対戦相手･･･は3回連続でプロツアーチャンピオンだったのだ。
第7回戦フューチャーマッチ：vs. Osyp Lebedowicz(アメリカ)
第8回戦フューチャーマッチ：vs. Jelger Wiegersma(オランダ)
第9回戦フューチャーマッチ：vs. Jeroen Remie（オランダ）
そして、黒田はこの試練の三番勝負を全勝。まさに王者の貫禄をただよわせての第4ドラフト進出となった。
写真のシーンは第2ゲームの序盤に《師範の占い独楽/Sensei's Divining Top》を起動しているところ。ここで見つけた《密の反抗/Hisoka's Defiance》が《兜蛾/Kabuto Moth》を見事にカウンターする場面である。
第2ゲームでは先手をとったRemieが2ターン目に《鼠の殺し屋/Nezumi Cutthroat》という最高のスタートでゲームをすすめたのだが、《亡霊の牢獄/Ghostly Prison》や《蝋燭の輝き/Candles' Glow》がらみの連繋トリックでゲームをスロウダウンさせた黒田の《砂の逆流/Reverse the Sands》にやられてしまった。

IT Media主催のPSPオープン・トーナメントに優勝した鬼頭 武（大阪）
大手情報サイトであるIT Mediaが主催する「PSPオープン（スタンダード）」がプロツアーのサイドイベントとして開催された。金曜日にスイスラウンドの予選、本日土曜日に決勝シングルエリミネーションが行われ、見事に「白ウィニー」デッキの鬼頭 武が優勝を果たした。もちろん、優勝賞品はSONYの携帯ゲーム機、なにかと話題のPSPだ。
今大会は実に豊富なサイドイベントが開催されていることが特徴で、「PSPオープン」だけでなく、「Nintendo DSオープン」や「I-PODオープン」、さらに「カップル限定のシールドトーナメント『かれかの』」といった催しがある。

日本語・英語の二つのチャンネルでLive Webcast、つまりは決勝ラウンドのVideo中継が行われる。日本語版の解説をつとめるのはMagicthegathering.comのレポーターである真木 孝一郎と大阪のプロプレイヤーである藤田 剛史だ。
ところで、Wizards社の幹部の話によると、このLive Webcast上で大きなニュースが初公開される予定とのことだ。もちろん、それはプロ・ラウンジ・サービスやプロツアー・フィラデルフィアで試験的な賞金システムが運用されること以外のトピックであるということだ。

下家 愛が女性限定トーナメントに優勝
つい先日、グランプリ大阪で初日全勝をはたしたばかりの下家 愛（東京）が、グランプリ名古屋サイドイベントの「女性限定トーナメント」に優勝した。彼女には「立体細工師」大久保氏が製作した「3D-Card」の《沈黙の預言者、ウヨウ/Uyo, Silent Prophet》が賞品として送られている。
