・2 度目の挑戦
今年も大塚は日本選手権 3 日目に帰ってきた。
昨年度の日本選手権ベスト 8 プレイヤーの中で唯一、今年もベスト 8 に残る快挙を成し遂げ、昨年は緒戦の準々決勝で敗れてしまった借りを返しに戻ってきたのだ。
練習仲間である岡本尋、小倉陵、塩津龍馬等、名古屋勢の声援を受け…彼は優勝への階段を駆け上ることができるだろうか。

大塚の主な戦績としては、
夏
・2002 年度日本選手権ベスト 8
・BIG CUP (通称：レベッカ杯) 優勝
＃BIG CUP とは、日本で唯一の Shop が開いた賞金大会。300 名もの参加者があり、
＃数多くの有名プレイヤーも参加した。
それ以外
・2000 Final 9th
・2001 Final 17th
といった風で、夏の戦績の方が断然いい。
また、結果を残しているのがスタンダードトーナメントであることから、トッププレイヤーがほかのフォーマットと比べて苦手としているスタンダード巧者であることもわかる。
・緑が好き
BIG CUP に勝ったときから着続けているのが緑マナシンボルをデザインした T- シャツ。
昨年は青緑マッドネスタッチ赤、今年は青緑マッドネスタッチ黒、とタッチ色に差はあるとしても…スタンダードでは一貫して青緑マッドネスという好きな緑のカードを利用してプレイしてきた。
特に好きなカードは緑の雑種犬、これがある限りはずっと使い続けていくと話してくれた。結果としてスタンダードは 5-1 にて予選ラウンドを乗り越えている。
ロチェスタードラフトは基本的に流れに身を任せてドラフトするということだが、できれば好きな緑をドラフトしたいとのこと。今年のドラフト、1St Draft で緑青赤 1-1-1、2nd ドラフトで緑黒 3-0、4-1-1 にて乗り越えている。
やはり、好きな色をプレイできると Duel のノリも良くなるのだろう。
・本人の一言と友人からの一言
大塚当人のから、ベスト 8 に残った際の感想として一言話してもらった。
「ベスト 8 に残れたのは、日頃からマネドラをしていた山添さんと名古屋の皆さんのおかげです。」
周りに感謝しながら話してくれる姿は、20 才の好青年という印象を与えてくれた。
そして、大塚の Duel 仲間の塩津からの一言。
「彼は普段はぬけている様に感じる人もいるけど、まとめるときはまとめてくれる。今回もきちんとまとめてくれることでしょう。」
