Legacy Cube Update

The results are in from the latest run of the Magic Online Legacy Cube! Randy Buehler and Magic R&D have gone over data showing how players used the first iteration of the Legacy Cube and have come up with some changes that will be implemented in the Legacy Cube's next run.

Legacy Cube Events return to Magic Online on Wednesday, March 18 and run through Wednesday, April 1 alongside Rise of the Eldrazi 6-2-2-2 Drafts.

Daylight Savings Time Begins Sunday, March 8

Please note, Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 8, at 2:00 a.m. in North America. At that point, Magic Online Events will go from being listed as Pacific Standard Time (UTC-8), to Pacific Daylight Time (UTC-7).

This is particularly relevant to note for participants in the Sunday, March 8, PTQ Finals Event. That event begins at 7:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time (UTC-7).

Magic Online R&D Challenge

The time has come once again to rumble with the folks in R&D and earn the sweetest prize of all: bragging rights. That's right, another Magic Online R&D Challenge is coming up on Friday, March 13 at 12:00 p.m. Pacific (UTC-7). Aside from satisfying clacks on their victory abacuses, R&D competitors will not be eligible to win prizes—their matches will only affect standings. Any prizes Wizards employees win will be distributed evenly among players with 15 match points within five business days of the event's completion.

R&D Challenge

Fate Reforged Standard Championship Qualifiers

Fate Reforged Standard Championship Qualifiers begin tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. Pacific (UTC-8) and run through Tuesday, March 10, 9:30 p.m. (UTC-7). Participation in a Fate Reforged Championship Qualifier will award players with a nonfoil, full-art Mardu Shadowspear promo card. Four or five wins in a Standard Qualifier wins you an invitation to the Fate Reforged Standard Championship Finals!

New Episode of Vintage Super League Tonight

The Vintage Super League pits Magic celebrities against one another with Magic's oldest and most powerful cards as their weapons of choice. Check it out tonight at 6:00 p.m. Pacific (UTC-8) on twitch.tv/magic!

Sealed Daily Prize Change

Beginning with the Wednesday, March 4, downtime, players who earn three match wins in a Sealed Daily Event will now receive 3 Khans of Tarkir booster packs, 3 Fate Reforged booster packs, and 1 QP instead of 4 Khans of Tarkir booster packs, 2 Fate Reforged booster packs, and 1 QP. This is being changed so that the prize payout matches the Sealed format. Other prizes for this event remain the same.

PTQ Switchover from Pro Tour Dragons of Tarkir to Pro Tour Magic Origins

Sunday, March 1, marked the final Pro Tour Qualifier (PTQ) that awarded the winner with an invitation to Pro Tour Dragons of Tarkir. For those who weren't able to snag a coveted invite, good luck in your journey to Pro Tour Magic Origins. Check out the PTQ Magic Origins schedule to begin planning your journey to the Pro Tour!

Fate Reforged Redemption Begins Wednesday, March 4

Fate Reforged Redemption begins on Wednesday, March 4! Start filling out your digital Fate Reforged collection now if you're interested in redeeming it for a full paper set.

Many players have asked us about the lands in Fate Reforged: how to get them, how they interact with redemption, etc.

As far as redemption is concerned, this is simple: Every card in the Fate Reforged set is required for redemption except the basic lands. Basic lands are not required to redeem a set of Fate Reforged, either standard or premium. Promotional cards and Khans of Tarkir cards are not required.

While they are not required for redemption, you can still collect Fate Reforged basic lands. Intro Packs have non-premium versions of these lands, and premium versions can be found in booster packs at the same rate as in other sets.
