Soyez à nouveau les bienvenus dans la rubrique "Days of Future Future", où je partage avec vous certains des decks que nous avons créés dans notre Future Future League, tout en vous expliquant ce que nous cherchions à faire pour équilibrer le Standard.
Comme d'habitude, je tiens à rappeler que bon nombre des cartes des decks que vous allez découvrir sont différentes de la version qui a été finalement imprimée. Dans certains cas, les versions de nos decks étaient plus puissantes et dans d'autres, elles l'étaient moins.

Ces decks représentent des mois d'affinage d'extension, où les cartes changent constamment, et peuvent fort bien être radicalement différents des listes de deck de compétition auxquelles vous êtes habitués. Cela ne veut pas toujours dire que ces decks n'étaient pas bons. Souvent, notre metagame était très différent ou les cartes n'y fonctionnaient pas de la même manière. Notre objectif est de tout tester. C'est le meilleur moyen de découvrir les cartes trop puissantes qu'on ne remarquerait pas du premier coup d'œil, et qui sont souvent celles qu'on regrette dans l'avenir.
Ceci dit, commençons.
Ce qu'on a essayé en premier, c'est un deck « La mue, c'est important ». Après tout, la mécanique occupait une grande part de la complexité de la marge de développement, et elle ne vaudrait pas la peine d'être incluse dans l'extension si elle n'avait aucune chance d'être importante en Standard. Je ne sais pas quelle est sa puissance finale, mais plusieurs versions de ce deck ont terminé au premier ou au deuxième niveau de nos decks de test.

Bien sûr, ce bloc concernant les couleurs opposées du pentagramme, une grande partie de nos efforts se sont concentrés sur le niveau de puissance approprié des decks tricolores. L'objectif était de s'assurer qu'ils soient jouables à la sortie de l'extension Les Khans de Tarkir, mais qu'ils ne soient pas les plus puissants en Standard pour les dix-huit mois suivants. Nous avons passé une bonne partie de notre temps à affiner ces decks pour qu'ils vaillent la peine d'être joués, malgré l'inconsistance et l'inconvénient inhérents à l'utilisation d'une base de mana plus complexe. Par exemple, voici l'un de nos premiers decks Contrôle Jeskaï conçu pour combattre les decks aggros, avec quelques cartes puissantes de fin de partie comme Kéranos.

Lors de nos tests, nous avons découvert que sans la Révélation du sphinx, il y avait beaucoup plus d'options pour les decks Contrôle. Mardu était un deck populaire qui faisait un excellent boulot en jouant des tonnes d'anti-bêtes, puis en utilisant des planeswalkers pour obtenir le Card Advantage.
Vous remarquerez peut-être la présence de Liliana du Voile dans cette liste de deck. Bien qu'elle n'ait pas fini dans Magic 2015, nous l'avons testée pendant un certain temps et nous avons découvert, sans surprise, qu'elle était une des cartes les plus puissantes de tout le Standard. Après l'avoir jouée pendant longtemps, nous savions qu'il nous faudrait publier des cartes anti-Liliana dans Khans ou la remplacer dans M15. Nous avons choisi cette dernière option.

Nous avons essayé un certain nombre de decks différents pour chaque clan. Abzan, par exemple, avait tendance à mieux fonctionner dans la moyenne, alors nous avons joué des decks similaires à ceux du Pro Tour Theros—en y mettant les créatures les plus efficaces de Khans.

Les decks mono-rouges représentaient une grande partie de nos essais parce qu'ils sont les prédateurs naturels des decks avec des bases de mana complexes.
Par exemple, nous avions ce deck qui ressemble à bon nombre des decks mono-rouges qui fonctionnaient bien en Bloc Theros sur Magic Online.

Comme il n'y a pas de colère à quatre manas dans le format, les decks devaient se diversifier pour combattre les decks de créatures. Bien sûr, la plupart des variantes blanches jouaient Mettre fin aux hostilités, mais le bleu-noir disposait aussi d'anti-créature un-contre-un puissant grâce à une combinaison de Card Advantage et d'énorme Évacuation des fosses pour verrouiller la partie.

Le Pro Tour Theros nous a fait savoir quelle menace représentait Dévotion mono-vert, alors nous en avons construit des versions dans le nouveau Standard, en tirant profit de tous les sorts X puissants dont nous disposions, dans ce cas l'Hydre cagoularde et les Griffes du cratère.

C'est tout pour cette semaine. Notre FFL a donné naissance à des tonnes de listes de deck, mais nous ne sommes pas encore prêts à les partager toutes. Nous verrons d'abord comment se déroule le Pro Tour Les Khans de Tarkir et si notre analyse du metagame était assez proche de la réalité. Avec ces données, nous adapterons « Blood » et le reste pour compenser les cartes qu'on aurait pu oublier.
