SBJ：戦績は 3勝 1 敗とのことですが、池田さんご自身がおっしゃるほどに悲観的になるようなデッキではなかったのではないでしょうか？
池田：そうですね。でも、Odyssey 2 パックが終わった段階ではかなり焦ってましたよ。2 パック目の初手で《リスの巣/Squirrel Nest》をピックして黒緑を意識していたのにまったく緑のカードがとれなくて、正直 0-4の予感を感じてましたね（笑）
SBJ：なるほど。で、結局黒単色になったわけですね。
池田：もう、大阪が黒コンだっただけに（編注：池田は日本勢最上位で Top 16 Finish を果たしている）黒コンでいいや...みたいな感じですかね。《汚れた契約/Tainted Pact》、《占骨術/Skeletal Scrying》、《無垢の血/Innocent Blood》、《陰謀団の貴重品室/Cabal Coffers》と、実際エセ黒コンな動きしましたからね。《ナントゥーコの影/Nantuko Shade》は《囁く影/Whispering Shade》が代用って言うことで（笑）。
SBJ：なるほど。ところで今回のデッキの MVP をあげるならどのカードでしょう？
池田：《陰謀団の貴重品室》はたしかに《囁く影/Whispering Shade》やら《影の形態/Shade's Form》やらを大変なことにしちゃってくれてたわけなんですけど、一番効いていたのは《汚れた契約》でしたね。これがなかったら本当に全敗だったかもってくらいですね。あと、《サディストの催眠術師/Sadistic Hypnotist》ですね。これでハンド攻めないと。あと、フラッシュバックカードをはじめとしてアドバンテージを稼ぐカードが結構詰まってたから、それがマナのサポートを受けて大活躍してましたね。
SBJ：勝ちパターンはやはりパンプアップ？
池田：それもバカにならないんですけど、やっぱり盤上のクリーチャーを掃除して、ハンドを空にしてから貧弱なクリーチャーたちでがんばってましたね。そういう意味では本当に「黒コン」でしたね。ただ、黒単色だってバレちゃうと完封されちゃう可能性もあったから意識して《臓器をすり砕く者/Organ Grinder》は早めにピックしときましたね。実際にとどめとしては予想通りの動きをしてくれましたし。
SBJ：お話をうかがったかぎり、黒単色はイケそうな印象もうけますがどうでしょう？
池田：正直赤緑やりたかったんですけどね。というか、この環境でこんなデッキを作ったのははじめてです。結果として各種シナジーがうまく働いてくれましたけど、本当にドラフトが終わったばかりの段階では落ち込んでましたよ。まあ、二度目はないかな。
SBJ：ありきたりですが、今日の目標は？
池田：セカンドドラフトでがんばって 2-1 したとして、まあ 5-2 ですかね。頑張ります。
