What Is Commander?

Commander is Magic's most popular official format, combining the self-expression of Magic with the multiplayer fun of a board game night. Players use 100-card decks featuring nearly any card from Magic's history. Each deck can only include one copy of each card, with the exception of basic lands. Most importantly, you choose a commander to helm your deck, which you can cast at any time.

Inspired by the gameplay of Magic: The Gathering Foundations, each of these decks showcases one of Commander's most popular themes. Each Foundations Commander deck contains a ready-to-play 100-card Commander deck, including a traditional foil version of the deck's commander with borderless artwork. Each deck focuses on one of Magic's five colors and has an easy-to-understand core strategy. No matter what kind of player you are, you're sure to fall in love with one of these decks.

• Calling All Angels: Take command of an army of Angels with Giada, Font of Hope. Each Angel you play makes your next one even bigger, so take to the skies and overwhelm your foes!

These decks also make for a great start to your Commander collection, as they contain plenty of key cards that you'll want in any Commander deck. After learning the basics of the game with a Foundations Commander deck, you can retool and reconfigure it using other cards from your collection, allowing you to build a deck that suits what you love most about Magic.

Explore Reality Fracture with Play Boosters

See what lies at the heart of this warped Multiverse with Reality Fracture Play Boosters. Play Boosters are the perfect entry point for a new set. These include a variety of cards from Reality Fracture, from common cards that explore the worldbuilding and key mechanics to exciting rare cards that you'll want to build an entire deck around.

Twisted versions of famous Magic characters are all throughout Reality Fracture. In fact, each Play Booster contains at least one echoed pair. These pairs include two cards: one depicting the main Multiverse version of a character and another showing their colorshifted version from an alternate reality.

There are also several legendary creatures in this set, both as part of echoed pairs and the rest of the set. If you find a legendary creature that you adore (like this Booster Fun version of Uldaros Theroix), try building a deck around them. You can even add these cards to one of the Foundations Commander decks to bring the Echoverse to your games. Liliana the Repentant is a powerful creature that fits perfectly into the Wretched Ranks deck, either as part of the deck or replacing Ghoulcaller Gisa as the commander.
