Reality Fracture brings some of Magic's most famous heroes, villains, and in-between icons to the forefront of a Multiverse-shaping battle for existence. Now that the ten-episode story has begun and the set's most mind-boggling cards have entered our reality, it's time for you to reshape your knowledge of the set's legends! From new versions of the Lorwyn Five to deep-cut favorites, there's something in the Multiverse (or Echoverse) for everyone.

In Reality Fracture, you'll find versions of characters that look familiar, but also ones that look distinctly unfamiliar. These warped counterparts are denizens of the Echoverse, a mirrored version of reality created by Jace Beleren. In the Echoverse, history looks very different, and that has reshaped the fates (and sometimes faces) of these legends. For more information on the Echoverse and Jace's plans for reality, check out the Planeswalker's Guide to Reality Fracture.

To make sure your burning Vorthos questions are answered as swiftly as possible, we'll update this article with new entries as cards are revealed. When a legend is added to the Reality Fracture Card Image Gallery, we'll add their biography to this article.

It's time to face Jace's reality—and yourself. Reality Fracture releases worldwide on October 2, 2026, and is available for preorder now from your local game store, TCGplayerAmazon, and elsewhere Magic is sold.

Reality Fracture

Jace Beleren

Jace Beleren is the most powerful mind-mage in the Multiverse and was once its heroic defender. After the death of his allies and his own infection during the Phyrexian Invasion, Jace has decided that the Multiverse as it stands is doomed to an eternity of misery and conflict. He has resolved to create a new reality instead, one that erases the trauma and suffering the Multiverse has endured.

The Theorist, Jace Beleren
Human, he/him

0043_MTGFRA_MainUP: The Theorist, Jace Beleren 0405_MTGFRA_JpnShow: The Theorist, Jace Beleren 0363_MTGFRA_BdlsMnd: The Theorist, Jace Beleren

Jace's mind fractured after his apparent death in the Meditation Realm. A slice of his personality known as "the Theorist" has taken over, locking away other attributes, like his empathy and wisdom.

The will of one is not utopia for all, and Jace's worst impulses have only been magnified as he sits atop the throne of his new reality. The Theorist displays little restraint, using his mind-controlling and mind-reading powers without concern for the free will of his subjects. His attention is everywhere at once, monitoring the final step of his plan. The ends justify the means, even if that results in overwriting the original Multiverse and replacing all life with his vision of reality.

Ajani Goldmane

Ajani Resolute
Leonin, he/him

0195_MTGFRA_MainPair: Ajani Resolute 0291_MTGFRA_BdlsDipt: Ajani Resolute

Ajani has helped many across the Multiverse. Motivated by his deceased brother's legacy, Ajani honors his friendships and leads with compassion. In battle, his voice stirs the hearts of his allies, granting strength, protection, and healing. Ajani has mentored many fellow Planeswalkers, wanting to see them master their abilities and grow into their best selves. After great effort, he has begun to heal the emotional scars he bears because of the pain he caused under the influence of phyresis.

He is prepared to defend the Multiverse once again, this time against someone he once called his friend.

Ajani Unrelenting
Leonin, he/him

0242_MTGFRA_MainPair: Ajani Unrelenting 0308_MTGFRA_BdlsDipt: Ajani Unrelenting

Vengeance and destruction flow from Ajani. His battle cry strikes fear. He carved a trail of carnage across the Echoverse as he sought revenge against those he judged responsible for his brother's death. Ajani's brother, Jazal, was a kind and just leader struck down during Alara's Conflux Wars while trying to broker peace. So, Ajani learned that mercy is a weakness, which he will never allow to be exploited again. Now dedicated to a life of vengeance and wrath, Ajani's raging soul fuels his attack-oriented magic.

As the Theorist crafts his "perfect reality," Ajani lashes out at anyone and anything that stands in the way.

Chandra Nalaar

Chandra, Torch of Defiance
Human, she/her

0244_MTGFRA_MainPair: Chandra, Torch of Defiance 0309_MTGFRA_BdlsDipt: Chandra, Torch of Defiance

Chandra is an impulsive and immensely powerful pyromancer who is learning to be a leader among her peers. When faced with a challenge, instead of looking to her mentors for guidance, she must channel her confidence to make the hard decisions. Now that a mage she once respected threatens the Multiverse, there is no virtue in subtlety, at least not as far as Chandra is concerned.

After Jace meddled with her mind during the Ghirapur Grand Prix, Chandra developed a strange mental link to him. She's always rushing in to push back against oppression, and her friend threatening to remove free will from reality is no exception. She hopes she can save Jace, but she will burn his false reality to the ground if that is what it takes to preserve the Multiverse.

Chandra, Chill of Compliance
Human, she/her

0212_MTGFRA_MainPair: Chandra, Chill of Compliance 0297_MTGFRA_BdlsDipt: Chandra, Chill of Compliance

Chandra Nalaar exhibits all the best qualities of an Avishkar consul shieldguard: She's measured, calm, and calculating, and she enforces the will of the Consulate on Avishkar by suppressing rebellion and guarding aether transports. Her cryomancy prowess and ascendence through the ranks are a testament to her father's guiding influence and her rigorous self-discipline.

Offered the chance to help create an Avishkar without suffering or strife, Chandra has embraced the Theorist's meticulous vision for all of reality.

Garruk Wildspeaker

Garruk, Curse Breaker
Human, he/him

0259_MTGFRA_MainPair: Garruk, Curse Breaker 0314_MTGFRA_BdlsDipt: Garruk, Curse Breaker

Garruk is a mighty hunter and solitary mage who finds the company of beasts preferable to that of his fellow humans. He'd much prefer to live in harmony with nature, far from civilization and its complications. Once cursed against his will, Garruk is loath to let Jace erase the Multiverse, so he joins the hunt for the mind-mage.

Garruk, Veiled Butcher
Human, he/him

0229_MTGFRA_MainPair: Garruk, Veiled Butcher 0303_MTGFRA_BdlsDipt: Garruk, Veiled Butcher

While hunting a beast across Shandalar, Garruk's path led him to the Onakke Catacombs. There, the demon Kothophed called out to him, offering to suppress the beast within him with a powerful artifact hidden in the catacombs. Tempted by the offer, Garruk donned the Chain Veil, an artifact of evil soul-binding magic. Cursed tattoos emblazon his skin when he taps into its arcane power. More than a hunter, Garruk is a summoner of vicious predators that follow him into battle.

Deployed across the Echoverse as an assassin, Garruk leaves a trail of blood and death as he helps the Theorist cleave away the troublesome elements of this new Multiverse.

Liliana Vess

Liliana the Repentant
Human, she/her

0231_MTGFRA_MainPair: Liliana the Repentant 0305_MTGFRA_BdlsDipt: Liliana the Repentant

This ruthless former Planeswalker is haunted by the memory of those she couldn't save. Her attempt to cure her brother using necromancy condemned his soul, and her heroic sacrifice was taken from her by Gideon, who believed in her unwaveringly. Liliana has used her necromantic powers in pivotal battles across the Multiverse. But where she once sought to selfishly gain power, now she tries to support the greater good. Although she still leaves plenty of bodies in her wake.

The imperious necromancer-turned-professor is being held prisoner in the Echoverse, having been kidnapped by her doppelgänger on Strixhaven. She's a prime candidate for someone whose life Jace believes he'll be "improving" by changing the Multiverse. If she gets out, she'll tell him exactly where he can stuff his alternate reality.

Liliana the Faultless
Human, she/her

0200_MTGFRA_MainPair: Liliana the Faultless 0293_MTGFRA_BdlsDipt: Liliana the Faultless

Liliana rose to prominence as a healer in Benalia, belonging to a convocation of clerics known as the Forward Order. Thanks to her deep knowledge of botanical remedies, she was able to cure her brother from the brink of death. A few years later, Liliana received a divine blessing from an archangel, after successfully curing several Serra Angels of the same Cabal curse that had afflicted her brother.

Her healing powers have kept her youthful and alive for hundreds of years. She has used the time to become a very powerful healer, capable of closing grievous wounds with a mere touch.

Liliana is a self-righteous believer in "the ends justify the means" and will do everything to assist the Theorist in healing the Multiverse. Even taking on the role of Professor Opal, the headmaster of Hexhaven Academy and instructor at Vigorbloom.

Hexhaven

Denzilore Fatehold
Sphinx, he/him

0128_MTGFRA_MainUP: Denzilore Fatehold 0349_MTGFRA_ShwTower: Denzilore Fatehold 0408_MTGFRA_JpnShow: Denzilore Fatehold

Denzilore Fatehold founded his school to improve the outlook for denizens of Echoverse Arcavios. He believes the power of prophecy should be used for the betterment of all. His three faces represent the past, present, and future. The scrolls that surround him show constantly changing images of the past, present, and future, reflecting and divining the fates of people nearby. It can be unsettling to speak with him and see your potential futures flit in and out.

Uldaros Theorix
Sphinx, he/him

0159_MTGFRA_MainUP: Uldaros Theorix 0358_MTGFRA_ShwTower: Uldaros Theorix 0411_MTGFRA_JpnShow: Uldaros Theorix

Uldaros Theorix sought students who demonstrated a thirst for knowledge and a capacity for abstract thought. He used his reality-bending magic to build the first fortress of Hexhaven, raising the campus out of the reach of mage hunters that had grown bolder in their attacks. He adorns himself with chains of equations. It is unclear if the Theorix sphinx was influenced by Jace's psychic manipulations, or if his magic enabled Jace to gain a stronger foothold on Arcavios in the Echoverse.

Ingris Stingerquill
Sphinx, she/her

0137_MTGFRA_MainUP: Ingris Stingerquill 0351_MTGFRA_ShwTower: Ingris Stingerquill 0409_MTGFRA_JpnShow: Ingris Stingerquill

Ingris Stingerquill was born with the ability to read emotions and influence others with her words. She teaches others to look deep within themselves and draw power from their core, using the leyline energy to amplify their thoughts and feelings. Her group of followers wields their words like weapons and has become Hexhaven's first line of physical defense against the mage hunters and witchstalkers.

Aerid Konstrari
Sphinx, they/them

0121_MTGFRA_MainUP: Aerid Konstrari 0347_MTGFRA_ShwTower: Aerid Konstrari 0407_MTGFRA_JpnShow: Aerid Konstrari

Aerid Konstrari has mastered the ability to animate inert materials by condensing magical energy from the leyline confluence under Hexhaven into heartwood crystals. They've taught this magic to their followers, enabling them to build and tether themselves to huge constructs to fight back against the dangerous creatures of the plane.

Kwia Vigorbloom
Sphinx, she/her

0140_MTGFRA_MainUP: Kwia Vigorbloom 0352_MTGFRA_ShwTower: Kwia Vigorbloom 0410_MTGFRA_JpnShow: Kwia Vigorbloom

A sphinx with wings of flowering plants and vines, Kwia Vigorbloom can cultivate and manipulate plant matter. She can magically encourage a seed to grow in any environment, helping it seek nutrients and thrive. Healers learn from Kwia to patch up injuries and illnesses with flora.

Echoed Pairs

Ghalta

Ghalta the Unstoppable
Dinosaur, she/her

0260_MTGFRA_MainPair: Ghalta the Unstoppable

When the elder dinosaurs were freed from their stasis within Orazca, a truly titanic beast was released—the tyrant Ghalta, the manifestation of the consuming hunger of nature.

Ghalta went on to protect the dinosaurs of Ixalan, acting as a mighty defender of the continent. When the Phyrexians invaded, Ghalta was summoned by the Planeswalker Huatli to help defend her home against the attackers. Ghalta obliged, storming into battle with the other elder dinosaurs, crushing any Phyrexians who dared to stand in her path.

Ghalta the Immovable
Dinosaur, she/her

0197_MTGFRA_MainPair: Ghalta the Immovable

Ghalta is a three-horned guardian who defends the other dinosaurs of Ixalan as fiercely as her own young. She is known for a hide so tough that it repels cannon fire and horns that can pierce through the toughest of metals. When the elders were given names by an ancient warrior-poet, her endurance earned the title Ghalta, or "strongest of all."

The dinosaurs of Ixalan might not know the fear of carnivorous predators, but Beckett Brass's dinosaur poachers have been a threat to Ghalta's kind for generations. As Brass grows bolder, Ghalta grows more determined, migrating farther than ever before to face off against the invading pirates.

Karn

Karn, Argent Defender

Time traveler, world forger, and master of all five colors of mana, the silver golem known as Karn has accomplished much since the passing of his creator, Urza. These days, Karn continues to make amends for his role in the Phyrexian Invasion. As the creator of Mirrodin, he feels partially responsible for Phyrexia's invasion of the Multiverse and remains determined to fix his mistakes. In his recent travels, Karn has connected with old friends and searched for traces of the Phyrexians to ensure that they will never return. But seeing Zhalfir restored, Karn has begun looking to his own future instead of being mired in his past.

Karn, Gilded Guardian
Golem, he/him

0272_MTGFRA_MainPair: Karn, Gilded Guardian 0316_MTGFRA_BdlsDipt: Karn, Gilded Guardian

As thanks for saving his life in the Second Brothers' War, the great Planeswalker Mishra gifted the golden golem, Karn, an artificial spark so that he might travel the Multiverse. With newfound powers and the blessing of his creator, Karn set out on his grand new adventure.

While Karn was honored by Mishra's gift, he had grown weary of the endless battles and wild adventures of his life. Karn decided to settle down after traveling the Multiverse and used his spark in an act of creation. He forged Mirrodin, a shining metal plane of peace and prosperity that would never know about the horrors of war. Karn watches over the plane as its shepherd and guardian, hoping to guide life so that it might flourish and prosper under the five vibrant suns.

Tinybones

Tinybones, Pocket Nuisance
Skeleton, he/him

0237_MTGFRA_MainPair: Tinybones, Pocket Nuisance

Tinybones seldom has a reason for taking the things he steals. To him, theft is an art form—one that admittedly leads to a very angry audience, but Tinybones has heard that art needs to evoke an emotion, and he is pretty sure that anger counts. It's a bit hard to tell, really. As a magical thieving skeleton, Tinybones's emotions aren't as strong as they used to be. But Tinybones's thieving helps keep the spirits of Urborg safe, and Tinybones is more than happy to use his talents for their sake.

Titanbones, Towering Heart
Skeleton, he/him

0266_MTGFRA_MainPair: Titanbones, Towering Heart

Titanbones seldom has a reason for protecting the creatures of Yavimaya. To him, kindness is just second nature. For as long as Titanbones can remember, he has always desired to defend the wilds, looking after all that live in the region … especially the birds. As a skeleton, Titanbones shouldn't really have emotions, and yet the beautiful, winged creatures of Yavimaya set his heart aflutter. Although … Titanbones isn't sure he has a heart. Most importantly, Titanbones has made it his life goal to ensure that he delivers a mighty clobbering to anyone who dares harm the animals of the woods … especially if those animals are the birds.
