Reality Fracture comes to MTG Arena tomorrow, September 29! Even new sets that don't feature the entire Magic Multiverse being turned on its head come bearing a lot of new information, so here are some friendly reminders:

Arena Direct for Reality Fracture
(October 2–11)

The first Reality Fracture Arena Direct is coming up very soon! From October 2–11, you can get to know the new set on the battlefield by diving into Jace's Echoverse and facing off against other competitors. The format for this event is Best-of-One Reality Fracture Sealed. Players with three to six wins will earn gems and MTG Arena packs, while players who reach seven wins will net themselves a Reality Fracture Collector Booster box, while supplies last!

Magic Rules Blog

On the surface, it may seem like having fun and following rules would be opposing forces, but in Magic and MTG Arena, they're actually symbiotic. While imagery and lore give the game form, rules give it function. They dictate basic facets of the game like card abilities, formats, and match structure, but rules also have to be responsible for creating and maintaining a framework to carry out potential interactions between cards, from the most elementary to the most dizzyingly complex. To put it mildly, the job of overseeing Magic's rules is an endeavor that's as complicated as it is perpetual. Thankfully, there's a crack team of specialists that focus on Magic's rules!

Last week, Magic's Rules team—Jess Dunks, Eliana Rabinowitz, and Eric Levine—pulled back the curtain and began a new ongoing series here on DailyMTG dedicated to exploring the ins and outs of wrangling Magic's many, many, many rules. Check out the first installment of the Magic Rules Blog!

Event Schedule

Premier Play

Qualifier Play-In events are single-day tournaments in which players compete to earn invitations to that month's Qualifier Weekend events.

Qualifier Weekend events are two-day events in which eligible players compete for invitations to upcoming Arena Championship events.

Qualifier tokens earned through seasonal rewards are delivered to your MTG Arena inbox. Remember to claim them before the event starts!

October Qualifier Format: Standard

  • October 24: Best-of-One Qualifier Play-In
  • October 25 (Bonus Event): Best-of-One Qualifier Play-In (Reality Fracture Sealed)
  • October 30: Best-of-Three Qualifier Play-In
  • October 31–November 1: Qualifier Weekend

September Season Rewards

Players will receive their rewards for the September 2026 season at the start of the October 2026 ranked season (12:05 p.m. PT on September 30).

You must have played at least one ranked game in the respective format to receive seasonal rewards.

  • Bronze Reward: 1 Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit pack
  • Silver Reward: 1 Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit pack + 500 gold
  • Gold Reward: 2 Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit packs + 1,000 gold + Desolation Prowler card style
  • Platinum Reward: 3 Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit packs + 1,000 gold + Desolation Prowler and Most Decrepit Old Bird card styles
  • Diamond Reward: 4 Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit packs + 1,000 gold + Desolation Prowler and Most Decrepit Old Bird card styles
  • Mythic Reward: 5 Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit packs + 1,000 gold + Desolation Prowler and Most Decrepit Old Bird card styles
