Arena Powered Cube Returns

Refreshed and raring to go after a hero's rest, Arena Powered Cube is back! From today through September 28, experience the regal rush of a supersized and supercharged Limited environment, replete with some of the most powerful cards in Magic's history.

Steadfast in his stewardship of Arena Powered Cube, our own Zach Barash has written another terrific, in-depth article about this edition of the cube. In addition to a wealth of insights into the thoughts and design process behind Arena Powered Cube, the article contains a changelog and a complete list of the cards included in this edition.

Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit Limited Open

The next Arena Limited Open event is coming soon and will feature Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit! Bring your competitive spirit and don't forget to hydrate, because this event is going to be a pitched battle with a lot at stake!

From September 11–13, this Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit Draft event is comprised of two draft events, each of which will pit competitors against one another in Best-of-One matches limited to thirty minutes per match.

Players can enter the first event any number of times and play until they reach seven wins or two losses. Seven victories in that event will grant the winner a token to continue to the second event. The second event also features two Best-of-One Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit Draft matches, limited to 30 minutes per match. Players may continue to play until they reach six wins or two losses. If a player reaches two losses, they may continue to re-enter the second event provided they have another entry token.

Prizing for the first event includes gems for four or more wins, while prizes for the second event are gems for one to four wins, as well as a cash prize of $1,000 for five wins or $2,000 for six wins.

Arena Direct for Aetherdrift Sealed
(September 15–20)

Buckle up, because the next Arena Direct is coming up soon and will take the competition back to Aetherdrift! Players in this event will compete in matches of Best-of-One Aetherdrift Sealed from September 15–20. Prizes include gems and MTG Arena packs for three to five wins and, while supplies last, Aetherdrift Play Booster boxes for six or more wins!

Mixed-Up Premier Standard Draft
(September 4–18)

Mixed-Up Premier Standard Draft is still running through September 18! In Mixed-Up Standard Draft, you'll draft from packs containing cards from a variety of Standard-legal sets to create a deck and battle other players in ranked matches of Best-of-One for a fun, unpredictable event.

  • Signup close: September 18, 2026, at 9 a.m. Pacific (16:00 UTC)

Premier Play

Qualifier Play-In events are single-day tournaments in which players compete to earn invitations to that month's Qualifier Weekend events.

Qualifier Weekend events are two-day events in which eligible players compete for invitations to upcoming Arena Championship events.

Qualifier tokens earned through seasonal rewards are delivered to your MTG Arena inbox. Remember to claim them before the event starts!

  • September 12: Best-of-One Qualifier Play-In
  • September 18: Best-of-Three Qualifier Play-In
  • September 19–20: Qualifier Weekend

September Season Rewards

Players will receive their rewards for the September 2026 season at the start of the October 2026 ranked season (12:05 p.m. PT on September 30).

You must have played at least one ranked game in the respective format to receive seasonal rewards.
