Standard includes recent premier sets from the last two to three years of releases. You can find a complete list of Standard-legal sets on the Standard format page.

As of July 25, 2025, the follow sets are legal in Standard: Wilds of Eldraine, The Lost Caverns of Ixalan, Murders at Karlov Manor, Outlaws of Thunder Junction, Bloomburrow, Duskmourn: House of Horror, Aetherdrift, Tarkir: Dragonstorm, Magic: The Gathering®—FINAL FANTASY™, Edge of Eternities, Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man and Magic: The Gathering Foundations.

You can register for Standard Showdown events by contacting your local game store. Make sure to sign up early to secure your seat.

While this varies between local game stores, most events feature three to five rounds of Best-of-Three Standard.

Each Standard Showdown event features a special promo card for the victor while supplies last. Contact your local game store for more information on availability.
