Collecting Reality Fracture
After years of fighting the horrors of the Multiverse, Jace has had enough. Why keep fighting for this reality when he can make a new one—a better one? His Echoverse, a perfected, mirrored reality, is at the heart of Reality Fracture. As it threatens to consume the Multiverse we know, Jace's former allies must rise up against him. Welcome to Reality Fracture, where Jace's solution is everyone's problem.
The story of Reality Fracture is currently unfolding on MTGStory.com and The Magic Story Podcast. Jace's former allies have teamed up to put a stop to his plan, allying with a certain Wildspeaker from Magic's past. This ten-episode story, written by Alison Lührs, comes to an epic conclusion on Friday, September 11, with new episodes released each day. Make sure you're caught up with the story when the finale drops, because it's poised to change the Multiverse as we know it.
The artists, writers, and designers of Reality Fracture have brought this story to life across this entire set. There's plenty to cover, from Booster Fun treatments to echoed pairs, and we've got all the details right here. But if you're just looking for the highlights, here are the four most important things to know about collecting Reality Fracture.
1. Chase the Bloodline Recollector Headliner
Within the labyrinthian halls of Hexhaven, a Stingerquill student has learned to access a powerful spell: Ancestral Craving, a mirrored version of one of Magic's most famous instants. We're bringing this card to the forefront as the headliner of Reality Fracture with the double rainbow foil serialized Bloodline Recollector, featuring a throwback full-art frame. This card mirrors the Secrets of Strixhaven headliner and features artwork by Mark Poole, illustrator of the original Ancestral Recall.
This version of Bloodline Recollector appears only in Reality Fracture Collector Boosters. There are 500 serialized versions of Bloodline Recollector that can appear in Collector Boosters of any language, but the card will always be in English. Serialized cards are mechanically identical to their non-serialized counterparts.
2. Break Reality with Facet Foil Shattered Mirror Cards
Imagine a world where everything, even the design of Magic, went differently. Shattered mirror cards show an alternate path for some of Magic's most iconic cards. Featuring artwork that showcases the new versions of these cards and the artwork that inspired them, these combine the legacy and future of Magic in one unforgettable piece. And for the true chroniclers of Magic history, facet foil shattered mirror cards are the ultimate collectible, giving a bespoke foil treatment to these pieces of the Echoverse.
Non-foil shattered mirror cards appear in Play Boosters and Collector Boosters. Facet foil shattered mirror cards appear only in Collector Boosters and are always in English.
3. Unravel the Secret Lair Bundle
We're debuting a new kind of Magic product that combines the set-specific excitement of a Bundle with the unmatched style of Secret Lair. Each Reality Fracture Secret Lair Bundle contains Play Boosters, a Collector Booster, and a selection of special Secret Lair Bundle promo cards you won't find anywhere else. These reinterpret cards from the main set of Reality Fracture and give them a distinct look. They're flashy, they're loud, and they're unmistakably Secret Lair.
Secret Lair Bundles will be available at your local game store, online retailers like TCGplayer and Amazon, and the Secret Lair storefront.
4. Form the 10-Card Special Guests Panorama
Reality Fracture features one of our most ambitious Special Guests selections yet: a 10-card panorama illustrated by Marina Banker depicting the most stunning (and terrifying) elements of the Echoverse. And just as the Echoverse continues to bloom on its own, this panorama is never-ending, letting you decide which card should rest at the center of the scene. It's as if we reached right into Jace's mind and pulled out his vision for reality. (We can't confirm or deny if our art directors can do that).
You can find non-foil Special Guests cards in Play Boosters and traditional foil Special Guests cards in Collector Boosters.
Reality Fracture releases worldwide on October 2, 2026. The set is available for preorder now from your local game store, TCGplayer, Amazon, and elsewhere Magic is sold.

What Are Echoed Pairs?
Every Reality Fracture Play Booster and Collector Booster contains echoed pairs, which is our way of putting the what-if theme of Reality Fracture front and center. One card in the pair represents the Magic Multiverse you know—a fiery Chandra, a kindly Ajani, or a solemn Karn—and the other represents the Echoverse—an icy Chandra, a vengeful Ajani, or a distinctly more colorful Karn.
There are 66 uncommon, 14 rare, and 6 mythic rare individual echoed pairs cards. Each set of echoed pairs includes 2 cards of the same rarity. Non-foil and traditional foil echoed pairs cards can be found in Play Boosters and Collector Boosters.
Some of these cards depict the central characters of Reality Fracture, but these echoed pairs pull from throughout the Multiverse and the Echoverse. To keep you informed on who these characters are and how their lives in the Echoverse shaped them, we're showing off some of the legends of Reality Fracture early and will update that article throughout preview season. Keep an eye on the Reality Fracture Card Image Gallery and the legends article for the latest previews and lore tidbits.
The Booster Fun of Reality Fracture
Jace has come a long way from Vryn, spreading his influence across the entirety of this set and its narrative. Each Booster Fun treatment in Reality Fracture puts you in Beleren's boots, letting you customize your decks with twisted versions of your favorite Reality Fracture cards. Let's see what the Theorist has in store!
Serialized Headliner: Bloodline Recollector
In the Echoverse, Hexhaven sculpts the most promising mages into cadets for Jace's cause. One of those students is the set's headliner card: a serialized double rainbow foil version of Bloodline Recollector in the throwback full-art frame. Bloodline Recollector, both aesthetically and mechanically, is a warped version of Secrets of Strixhaven's headliner card. In true mono-black fashion, this card trades your life for card advantage. So, so much card advantage.
Shattered Mirror Cards
We're shattering colors (but not the color pie) with alternate-reality versions of famous Magic cards. Shattered mirror cards embrace the new and old, showcasing the card's inspiration alongside its Echoverse counterpart. Take Stingcaster Mage, which shows a Stingerquill student shattering the reality of a wizard from Innistrad.
Fracturing reality has consequences, and one of those consequences is a stunning new foil treatment. Facet foil shattered mirror cards have a shimmering treatment that makes the shards of broken reality truly stand out. Breaking the Multiverse has never looked this good.
There are 5 rare and 8 mythic rare shattered mirror cards in Reality Fracture. Non-foil shattered mirror cards appear in Play Boosters and Collector Boosters. Facet foil shattered mirror cards appear only in Collector Boosters and are always in English.
Borderless Echoed Pairs Cards
The Echoverse is coming face to face with our Multiverse—or should we say card to card? Borderless echoed pairs cards feature stunning artwork that spans two cards, depicting a clash between realities. As Chandra ascends the Theorist's tower in search of a way to save her reality, she's forced to confront her doppelgänger—a moment we've brought to life on these cards.
Each set of echoed pairs includes 2 cards of the same rarity. There are 10 uncommon, 14 rare, and 6 mythic rare individual borderless echoed pairs cards in Reality Fracture. Non-foil and traditional foil borderless echoed pairs cards are available in Play Boosters and Collector Boosters.
Braintwister Series Cards
Can you feel that? Your mind twisting, your thoughts coiling around the very concept of Jace's twisted reality? Borderless braintwister series cards bring the unreality of the Echoverse to some of the set's most mind-boggling cards. If you love Jace—despite his many, many faults—these are the cards for you.
There are 5 uncommon, 15 rare, and 3 mythic rare braintwister series cards in Reality Fracture. Non-foil and traditional foil braintwister series cards are available in Play Boosters and Collector Boosters.
Sculptor's Stronghold Cards
In his tower, Jace watches over the Echoverse, observing how his intricate array of magic manifests a new reality that conforms to his design. Take your seat at the apex of power with sculptor's stronghold cards. These feature a special frame that captures Jace's Echoverse aesthetic. They're powerful, they're striking, and they're stunning pieces of Echoverse accoutrement.
There are 18 rare and 7 mythic rare sculptor's stronghold cards in Reality Fracture. Non-foil and traditional foil sculptor's stronghold cards are available in Play Boosters and Collector Boosters.
Special Guests Cards
Unfurl this twisted reality and lay out the Theorist's master plan across all 10 borderless Special Guests cards. Marina Banker illustrated all 10 Special Guests cards in Reality Fracture in the form of a 10-piece panorama. Each card depicts a facet of the Echoverse, from the cadets of Hexhaven to the mirrored counterparts of your favorite Magic characters. Form your own brilliant reality and put together this scene with these Special Guests cards!
This panorama is designed to wrap around on itself. Each card has two adjacent cards it can sit next to, letting you place your favorite Special Guests card at the center of the Echoverse-spanning panorama. Maybe Flesh Duplicate is your favorite, or the format-warping Eye of Ugin? Become the architect of your own reality—no Gem of Becoming required.
You can find non-foil Special Guests cards in Play Boosters and traditional foil Special Guests cards in Collector Boosters.
Japan Showcase Cards
The battle for the fate of the Multiverse gets an extra twist with Japan Showcase cards. Our Japanese Booster Fun team reimagined 10 cards from Reality Fracture with artwork inspired by Japanese hobby shops, complete with a special card frame! Take the Founder Sphinxes, deans of each of Hexhaven's schools, who each received a hyper-stylized version in the form of a Japan Showcase card.
Traditional foil and fracture foil Japan Showcase cards appear only in Collector Boosters. In Japanese Collector Boosters, Japan Showcase cards will always be in Japanese. In non-Japanese Collector Boosters, Japan Showcase cards will always be in English.
Secret Lair Bundle Promo Cards
Secret Lair Bundle
Jace got a makeover for Reality Fracture (check out that cloak!) and so did our special bundles! Secret Lair Bundles are a mind-bending collection of everything you love about a set, infused with the wild visuals of Secret Lair. Each Secret Lair Bundle includes 2 Collector Boosters, 6 Play Boosters, a set of traditional foil basic lands, and 2 of 10 traditional foil Secret Lair Bundle promo cards.
For Reality Fracture, we reimagined 10 cards from the main set and gave them a new look, as if they were pulled straight from Jace's wild visions of a reforged reality.
Secret Lair Bundles will be available at your local game store, online retailers like TCGplayer and Amazon, and the Secret Lair storefront. We plan to release Secret Lair Bundles with each of our Magic Multiverse sets going forward, including the recently announced Nauctis: The Sunken Realm.
Borderless Portal View Lands
Back in Secrets of Strixhaven, players glimpsed a mysterious realm through the set's borderless portal view lands. Now, we know where those lands led! Reality Fracture contains a new cycle of portal view lands, this time depicting the cadets of Hexhaven looking back at their Strixhaven counterparts. Maybe in another reality, these students could have a healthy academic rapport. But here, they're more likely to trade blows than research notes.
There are 5 rare portal view lands in Reality Fracture. These cards are available in both non-foil and traditional foil in Play Boosters and Collector Boosters.
Borderless Tower Basic Lands
The Theorist's tower spirals upward, shifting and reshaping itself just as sporadically as the Echoverse. Bring this feat of astonishing architecture to your mana base with borderless tower basic lands. There are 3 different tower basic lands for each basic land type. Each land type makes a 3-card vertorama (or a vertical panorama). You can view each set of tower basic lands below.
There are 15 tower basic lands in Reality Fracture, with 3 different artworks for each basic land type. These cards are available in both non-foil and traditional foil in Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, and Bundles. Traditional foil tower basic lands are available in Secret Lair Bundles.
